Pace of blogging should be within my control...... Should.....
Hey ho two days at a time isn't so bad!
Keep believing!!
Today after a morning spent catching up the blog, I decided to for a day of the familiar, catching a tram on catching the tram in Spadina AVE up to Bloor Street I walk east a few blocks to the Duke of York pub, I'm long overdue a pub meal and bangers and mash washed down with a pint of London pride was comfortable and reassuring in its familiarity! in a country as huge as Canada is you can feel a bit lost, everything is days of travel away it seems, joys of coming from a small island everything is to hand ! Here tho British history is to hand!
And not far from the pub to!
A short walk and I'm at Queen's park, smack bang in the middle of the park is a huge grand statue of king Edward the seventh! The statue has quite a history, it was originally erected in Delhi in Edward park India upon his coronation, he had a tablet erected at the time and rather unusually for a British monarch came to celebrate his Durbar (a Persian term used to describe a formal reception) there! not to stand for too long tho, with the fall of empire the grand statues throughout India were ripped down and left to rot in Edward park,
This one tho was purchased and restored after being bought back to Canada.... Beautifully restored!
A short walk and I'm at the legislative assembly of Torontowalking amongst past monarchsVictoria and Elizabeth
Captured cannons from Sebastopol flank the walk into the assembly
I'm not too far from Knightsbridge here so a walk into China town and through to the hostel to finish the afternoon, and a dodgy noodle bowl with 'simulated spicy chicken' ..... Yep that's what it said on the pot!
Didn't kill me!
