day96 Thundering waters!

First up today! I'm out before anyone has noticed, into the trams/street car to queen's Dock west before a little walk to stand outside 'Hastey market' a small grocery shop, to wait for the tour bus,
I'm off to see Niagara falls (in English Thundering waters, hence the title!) so nice to take this tour I can sit back and go with the flow..... Not literally! the tour guide was pleasantly chatting away as he drove pointing out a big silver Via train, the stadiums for hockey and football that were to host big games this afternoon, out of town onto the freeway around lake Ontario, cutting a corner at the tip of the lake where iron works are in operation and huge cargo ships traverse this lake, which in area is the equivalent of the size of Wales!
The great lakes here are linked via a huge canal/lock system to raise shipping up the escarpment that Niagara thunders downas seen from Burlington lift canal bridge.
Then into our first stop a quaint little town called Niagara on the lake, it's commercial but not in your face and in the spring sunshine seeing bluebells, crocuses and daffodils I could almost be back in the UK!
Seeing the union flag flying makes more so!only a quick stop here but I rushed a little to see the remains of the old British fort Mississauga at the mouth of the Niagaraon the other side is a french fort and with it my first view of the USA.... That didn't come from the TV!
Onwards and heading towards the Niagara whirlpool we pass a floral clock, already pleasant to see with the spring growth'Niagara Parks'
The whirlpool itself was at a slow flow so not rotating noticeably we were treated to seeing a turkey vulture fly over..... My first vulture!a very short stop here before continuing along Niagara river parkway, to the falls....they don't disappoint!
Multiple pictures taken before entering the center and paying for the behind the falls experience, the behind bit is a bit naff to be honest you can't see anything for the water.....

while looking like a minion in the waterproof!
The view point tho was much better!back to the centre for a coffee before jumping into the bus to the last stop!
The Skylon tower,  which I managed to not photograph...... 🥸🥸🥸
Imagine the CN tower but smaller and you'll get it tho!
Great views from the top down into the fallsAnd back to Toronto over the lakeFull zoom on my phone and you can just see the CN tower!
A really good value tour getting us back to Toronto by 4.30 despite the traffic!
Walking back to stretch my legs from the bus trip, picking up some healthy salad for dinner, sitting in the common room eating that I get joined by Callum from the channel Islands and a lady he was charming!
We're joined by Lilly a Japanese girl I'd met earlier in the week, upstairs there's movie on, we don't stay it was an awful movie! Downstairs we're all playing cards Lilly hasn't played pontoon before, she then goes on to beat us all! I come in last! I don't mind losing!
ending a really nice day!
